What do you think of my poems?
This was a poem I wrote when my darling pony Franky died…
1 = GREENLEE ZODIAC

It will never leave my mind where you lay,
Just as though you were asleep in the hay.
White as a bone,
Cold as a stone,
Your skin the wrong tone.
In my heart thats where you’ll be,
Just like the leaves of a tall oak tree.
I will miss you forever and ever
Just like that wonderful weather,
Sun was out not a cloud in the sky,
That was the day before you died.

THis is a poem I wrote about a tractor being "retired" as in if it was just left out in the paddock not used…
2 = Retirement Home

Im trapped in a junkyard
With my fellow tools.
My life has come to and end,
And I don’t know what to do.
No plowing, no playing, no mud to pull in
No fun for me any more because
My tyres are deflated, my paint is flaking to,
My body is rusting and so are my tools,
Its been 7 winters, and I haven’t moved
I’ve sat here waiting, nothing to lose.
I’m trapped in this junkyard,
Unwanted and unused.

3 = Rocket wrecked

If ever I am rocketwrecked
In the ocean of the stars,
I hope that I don’t land upon
the dusty Island Mars.

While Jupiter is bigger
And Saturn has her ring,
Neptune qill be all locked up
Belonging to a King.

Uranus is to faraway
And Venus is to hot,
Pluto is an atoll,
A drifting sandy spot.

I hope I don’t reach Mercury,
‘Cos it sizzles in the sun,
Which leaves me only Island Earth
On which to have some fun.

THere is just one little thought
for the tiny Island Earth,
With all people living there is there,
Space for me?

4 = The Storm

Rain is falling,
pirouetting around me.
My clothes are wet,
crying fresh tears.
THe strong winds fingers,
rip the trees to shreads of paper.
Lighting sything the lone tree,
in the middle of the field.
THe booming voice of the thunder
starles the young childre,
sending them screaming,
into the saftey of
their mamas arms.
Rain is falling,
pirouetting around me.

5 = Noise

I like noise
The winnie of a horse, the groan of a truck.
The bark of a dog all covered in muck!
The maaa of a lamb crying for mum.
The oink of a pig eating a plum.

The pitter patter of little mice feet,
Through heavy hay the carefully creap.
The squlech of my gumboot
Getting pulled out of mud.
My little gummie STUCK down I fall with a thud.

The rosters crow, and the engine’s crank,
Is the alarm clock for the old pony, Frank.
The vroom of a motorbike like a giant
Plane roaring over jumps.
I like Noise

6 = (my fave) The Air Bellarina

The butterfly is dawn,
Opening into a new day.
Flexing its wings, it is a new
Born baby, delicate and weak.
Drip, drip, drip, it is a wet flower,
Drying after the morning shower.
Floating on the light air.
It is snow fall in the breeze,
Dancing, twirling a new creation.
Children and adults admiring,
The beauty of a ballerina,
Dancing on the stage.
Landing on the occasional swan plant,
For a seconds rest.
Before starting the journey,
To the next stop, to lay an egg.
Then back home to say,
The last goodbye.
The butterfly is dawn,
Opening into a new day.
