How does Paul not contradict Jesus in these verses?
Jesus said, "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give." Matt. 10:

Jesus says give freely.

Paul said, "If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you?" 1 Cor. 9:11.

Paul says, "pay me".

Do you think Paul may have been in it for the money?
I’m not asking if Paul was beaten and abused, I’m asking if he contradicted Jesus; try to stay on topic for a minute.

Read the whole chapter because thats not the end of it. this is what Paul says after that.

15But I have not used any of these rights. And I am not writing this in the hope that you will do such things for me. I would rather die than have anyone deprive me of this boast

Paul was beaten, stoned (rocks), put in prisons, starved and cold.
That does not sound like someone in it for the money?
I love Paul and what he did for Christianity.
Oli | Sep 26, 2009

If you cared to read further you would have seen verse 12

"But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ." and

15 "But I have not used any of these rights. And I am not writing this in the hope that you will do such things for me. I would rather die than have anyone deprive me of this boast."

He did not take any food or money from the Corinthinans and was proud of it. No, Paul was definatly not in it for the money.
Azules | Sep 26, 2009

It is interesting the things Paul does not say rather than what he does say. For example, he does not mention Jesus, Joseph, Mary, the miracles, the trouble with the money lenders. etc etc. The only thing he mentions is the Christ.

Odd considering Paul is the only contemporary author with the Christian time line. And seeing as not one of the gospels are old enough to be eye witness accounts.

Paul was a Roman citizen. The most popular belief system in Rome during Paul’s era was Mithra Christos. A religion that predates christianity by c1000 years and is almost identical.

Christianity did not exist until Constantine commissioned the bible, as in bought and paid for. Constantine was historically a worse insane despot that all his predecessors put together and a zealous fanatical Mithra follower.

Jesus is Mithra and Christianity is Mithra christos wearing a new name.

I think I agree with you. Not a bible scholar , but it does appear Paul is asking for payment for his sowing. Often people give with the expectation of getting. That is where they go wrong. Been reading a great book called Take Me To Truth. Perhaps you might like it also. Some look at giving as loosing something. True giving only expands and takes nothing away.
merlin | Sep 26, 2009

Read the whole context of what Paul has written and the Lord Jesus has said on this subject.

Luke 10:2 Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves. 4 Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road. 5 But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ 6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you. 7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.

1 Corinthians 9:11 If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? 12 If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more? Nevertheless we have not used this right, but endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ. 13 Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar? 14 Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.

1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. 18 For the Scripture says, "YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE AN OX WHILE IT TREADS OUT THE GRAIN," and, "THE LABORER IS WORTHY OF HIS WAGES."

God provided that the proclaimers of the good news had the right to accept material help from those to whom they brought it. (1Co 9:11-14) But Paul and his close associates so cherished their privilege as bearers of the good news that they carefully avoided making financial gain therefrom, or even giving the appearance of doing so in connection with their preaching. The apostle Paul describes his course of action in this regard at 1

Fourth Angel, The

Fourth Angel, The
Fourth Angel, The (2001)

IMDB rating: 5.40

Plot: Jack Elgin is the European editor of The Economist, which is based in London, England. Jack has a wife named Maria and three kids named Joanne, Julia, and Andrew. Jack subtly changes the family vacation from a lazy week of Mediterranean fun and sun in Corfu, Greece, to a tour of India, because of a story he has to cover. Maria is not as impressed by this as the kids are. Jack himself envisioned a chance to simultaneously work an easy reporting assignment and spend a little quality time with his family. But on the way to India, the airplane, a 747 owned by AM Air, an American airline, makes an unscheduled stopover in Limassol Cyprus, because of a mechanical problem. After a while of waiting inside the Limassol airport, everyone gets back on the plane — which is then hijacked by a group of terrorists known as the August 15th Movement, led by a Serbian man named Ivanic Loyvek and his right-hand man Karadan Maldic. And they are demanding $50,000,000 from the US State Department in one hour, or everyone on the airplane will die. The demand is met, and Loyvek and Maldic start releasing the women and children, with the men to go last. But as soon as a front passenger door is opened, a local police team gunning for the terrorists opens fire. The flight attendants frantically open the rest of the airplane’s doors and start getting passengers out, but the terrorists start killing passengers, leading to an explosion. Maria, Joanne, and Julia get out of the airplane, and then Jack, holding Andrew, gets out — only to watch Maria, Joanne, and Julia get shot by the terrorists. Jack tries to hide Andrew’s face so he can’t see it. Maria and Joanne are dead, and Julia is still alive — but Julia burns to death while crying for help. Jack and Andrew survive. In all, a total of 15 passengers die, and Loyvek and Maldic, the surviving terrorists, escape, knowing that they now have the $50,000,000. The hijacking would never have ended this way if the police team had waited until after the passengers were released from the airplane before getting trigger happy. Back in London, an absolutely devastated Jack is told that the terrorists were captured, but they were released and deported secretly, with no charges and no arrest, the result of some awfully compromised politics. Jack is understandably enraged that Loyvek and Maldic got off scot-free. While helping Andrew cope, Jack tries all the legal ways to ensure justice for his family, but to no avail. Jack even pays a visit to Henry Davidson, a CIA agent who works at the American Embassy in London. Davidson tells Jack that there’s little that can be done. Obviously, the American and British governments are completely impotent when it comes to going after Loyvek and Maldic, so Jack has absolutely no choice in the matter. He must do it himself. With the help of his ex-intelligence operative friend Kate Stockton, who is well-schooled in the finer points of international intelligence, Jack becomes a one-man anti-terrorist squadron, searching for Loyvek and Maldich. Dogging Jack’s trail is FBI agent Jules Bernard, who’s cooperating with Scotland Yard on anti-terrorist activities, and who suspects that Jack is the man who has been killing anyone involved in the hijacking. But as it turns out, Jules is on Jack’s side, and he’s willing to help Jack make those responsible pay for the deaths of his family and the other people who died in Cyprus.

How do you make Alphabet Poems and Color Poems?
No, I’m not talking about those childish poems where Alphabet Poems go like this:

A – Angels are
B – Beautiful and
C – Caring and all that chizz

…And with Color poems go like this:

R – Red is nice
E – Everything should be red
D – Dogs should be red

I mean the kind of poems that actually HAVE a measurement. From what I know, with Alphabet poems, each line should start with A-D, with the fifth one starting with any random letter. Am I right or am I missing anything?

With the color poems, there should be 9 lines (at least that’s what I know). And the first line should have something to do with sight, the second one with hearing, the third one with smell, the fourth with taste, the fifth with touch, right? I’m not sure with the remaining four, which is why I’m asking you, the geniuses of the internet, for help.

Am I right with what I just said? Or are there any errors? Also, fill me up with the things I’m missing. Thanks! :)

well it depends if u are doing a letter poem you would start like this

Awsome
Beutiful
Cunning

and make shore that u have words for that letter that u think describe that letter same thing with color poems

What are roaches and mites and what type of diseases they cause?
Roaches and mites are sea creatures that live in moist places on land. They live with people and control the people they live next to using mites that live in decay with them. The diseases they cause are epilepsy, scalp flakes, allergies to food they don’t want the host to eat if they control the body of their hosts through viruses, they cause the people to fast regularly by depriving the viruses of privileges, they cause the body to decay. They cause nightmares and griding of teeth. They communicate with the viruses through threatening dreams, once they control the body. Other insects like flies and gnats can use the roach viruses for errands, they cause lost of eyes. They cause infertility. They control people mentally due to the roach viruses living in them. They cause people to lose their health. They cause baldness if they chose the person as priests. So the dangerous part is that once the roaches control the house, they chose specific leader of the house, mostly the male to become priests and the viruses are controlled and that is what they called "spirits" that overcome the person and control the person like the person is in trance or sleep walking. Sleep walking is caused by roaches. I have proof of these since I lived with roaches. The whole house was controlled by roaches from my dad to my sisters or anyone that come to the house. My poor dad was abused by them and when they saw that he refused to serve "spirits" which were the roach viruses in him, they eliminated him by causing his body to decay. They kill him through surgery. Since doctors are also controlled by roach viruses, they made mistake during the surgery. The place of surgery rot. Before the surgery happens, they came to the oldest of the family, sending a priestess to ask the oldest person in the family to replace her father. Since the oldest of the family refused, they killed the first-born child of that person just like they kill the grandfather. They as well threaten the person in dreams of what they would do and before the first born child die, roach walk over the child to claim the body like the terrorist do when they kill someone and they announce it on TV.

So roaches are crabs of the sea, poop eaters, that use the blood in the poop to pretend to be people. Many times in dreams people dreams about people, but they are viruses that live in the person that portrays themselves as people. The viruses is there as the roaches’ slaves and messengers to terrorize their victims. Roaches are very nasty critters. They cause their victims to be homosexual, lesbians, and other awful things. They are number one killers of the blood species group mostly people since they live with people. So all insects follow in their footsteps and use us to kill each other, and even eat each other. So people serve gods that are roaches because the roach viruses called the roach that put them in people gods or masters.

The roaches use the religious books to the letters to correct their viruses’ conducts. Sometimes people near you are cursing, and it is the viruses in them that are cursing. They cause the people to have dirty mouths and dirty behavior. Once they put the viruses in people, they think they are the master of that person. By the viruses being their slaves ad the viruses using the person mentally, so the person as well become worshipers of the roaches.

My wife cheated on me… why? is it my fault as my friends claim? Please, I need advices.?
Hello.. so I’m a 25 year old guy, I’ve been married to my wife since 2004. My friends always told me that it was a bad idea to marry that girl because she wasn’t virgin (I was virgin)… according to my friends, she wasn’t virgin and as result she had been unfaithful to me given that any woman is supposed to only have sex with the man she gets married with.. my friends also told me that marring a non virgin girl was a terrible idea because once a cheater always a cheater.. I never paid attention to my friends’ advices and decided to marry her… and so far everything was going great until last week…… last Friday I found out that my wife had been cheating on me for the last 8 months with a guy from her work… as you can imagine, I felt so humiliated, I felt so confused, I didn’t know why she was cheating on me, I asked her why she did it, and she couldn’t give me a reason… I really can’t understand why she cheated on me, I always was a loving, caring and provider husband. I always took her out to diner every weekend, of course, I couldn’t take her out to dinner on weekdays because those days I’m busy working. My friends tell me I shouldn’t blame her for her actions, they tell me I’m the only one who should be blamed for having married a non virgin woman.. do u think my friends are right?

I hope this is a troll.

Virgin does not = unfaithful. Unlink these two concepts in your brain. Now that you’re not longer a virgin, will you automatically cheat on your next girlfriend? No.
Rachel | Feb 05, 2010

Your friends are idiots and not very sensitive to your situation.

Not being a virgin is not the cause of her cheating, that’s silly. Also, you did not make her cheat.

There could be troubles in your marriage that you are responsible for, but still, that is not an excuse to cheat.

She needs to own up to why she’s cheating and be honest if the marriage can be saved, that is if you want it.
mouser | Feb 05, 2010

Your friends dont know what they are talking about.
You know how many NON virgins have gone into marriage and been happily married for many many years. The statistics prove your friends wrong.

Its just u got a person who was a cheater , thats all.

Ever thought about it from this point. If a woman is not a virgin when married. Its fair to say she has played the feild and is settling for the best. Your friends are looking at it in a different persepective thats all.

I disagree. You wife cheated on you because she was unfaithful towards you. Its not your fault, it was hers. And the fact that she didn’t have a reason proves it.

your friends sound like arseholes really golly what has being a virgin got to do with marriage, sounds like your friends are too involved, people can get through cheating but its hard can you do it, i would stay away from so called friends and ask your girl to, talk to her and try and work it out ive no right to say she is a cheating cow but shes a cheating cow sorry ive been hurt thats all and i dont like that behaviour men or woman, i do wish you well xx

Seriously bro, who gets married to a NON virgin girl?????/ were you drunk?
Sudamericano | Feb 05, 2010

How in the world could someone think the way you do? Are you in a weird cult or something? Just because a woman/girl had sexual relations with a man before she ever met you does not make her a cheater. Your friends are obviously lacking in brain cells. Of course having sex while actually being married does constitute cheating and that is what you need to focus on. Have you actually told her (maybe several times during your marriage) that she was a cheater because she wasn’t a virgin before she married you? That would certainly make her want to stray from the marriage bed and disrespect you the way you are disrespecting her. The past is over and has nothing to do with your current life. Find out what is wrong with your marriage and why she felt the need to look elsewhere. If you still have a good foundation then work on your marriage and if you don’t, get out. Neither of you need to play such childish games when marriage is such a serious commitment.

I think your friends were and are right! why did u marry a non virgin girl? why?
Day | Feb 05, 2010

Her being a virgin has nothing to do with it, if she cheated before the wedding. Then it was a given she would cheat after. Next time be more careful of who you hook up with. The fact that you knew she let you down before, should have been a warning.
Memory | Feb 05, 2010

wow no man it is not your fault unless you are extremely christian noone goes by that stupid virgin rule anymore and not being a virgin when she met you doesn’t mean she cheated on you so your friends are f*cking stupid!
jramy.kiki | Feb 05, 2010

My wife was non-virgin when we first met & I trust her to the max-but it’s bad she started cheating on you after yrs of marriage…
strange-artist | Feb 05, 2010

most people aren’t virgins not in today’s world anyway being a virgin when you marry has nothing to do with them being faithful to you in a marriage. Its all about their character. you could think about the why it happened forever, and still not find an answer to your question but its definitely not your fault this happened and it is her fault she is the one who made the choice and didn’t use self control. Every day we are temped by something and most people would know better and walk away.you were a good husband but you can’t control what others do. even a virgin could cheat on you so it has nothing to do with that.

sorry this is going to be very blunt.

but…

Your friends are idiots. your an idiot for listening to them.

No, a non virgin woman isn’t automatically going to cheat on you.

She probably cheated on your because she wasn’t happy in the marriage. with your sex life or a number of other things that arn’t related to her being a non virgin. its more likely she is slutty.

you are obviously a religious person? and going by your reasoning you will cheat on your next partner because you are no longer a virgin? wtf?

Change who you are going after, its the girl who cheated not you. no you shouldnt feel to blame she should.
honest_aus_girl | Feb 05, 2010

your friends sound like they need to get some facts straight. because someone isn’t a virgin when you marry them doesn’t make them a cheater. so i’m assuming that your friends feel that anyone who isn’t married is supposed to be a virgin. well back in the old days that may have been the case but we are in the 21st century things have changed. it is great that you saved yourself until you got married most people don’t have that conviction. good for you! and the only person to blame for the cheating is the cheater(your wife). now you 2 need to figure if you can get past all this or not and as far as her not knowing why she did it. not true.

YOU are NOT responsible for the actions of others. It is NOT your fault that your wife was unfaithful. Some women and men cheat because they feel lonely, unloved or use it as revenge because the other one cheated first. But those are NEVER valid reasons and IMO, there are NO valid reasons to forget the vows you took when you married. Your wife being a non-virgin has NOTHING to do with it. I was a non-virgin and I have NEVER been unfaithful to my husband in the past 23 years that we have been together. Are all of these friends male virgins? If not, do they think they will cheat when they are married? Do your friends think that men are supposed to only have sex with the woman they marry? It almost sounds like the INFAMOUS double standard where some men think they can do no wrong and the woman is always at fault. IMO you need to talk to someone who can give you a clear picture on human behavior and stop listening to people who seem to be trying to lay the blame at your feet.
