What treat can I put out to get rid of neighborhood cats?

My neighbor has at least fifty outside cats. What kind of treat can I put out to get rid of them?

HEY, IF IT’S YOUR OWN PROPERTY THAT HAPPENS TO ACCIDENTALLY HAVE RAT POISON THERE THAT’S EATEN BY OFFENDING FELINES…..? WELL?????????? YOU’RE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT ONE FACT.
AFTER ALL WHAT DO YOU THINK THE ANIMAL CONTROL DOES?

Dr. Albert, DDS (UNITED STATES) | Dec 11, 2006

Humanely, you can get a live animal trap (usually from your shelter or Animal Control division) bait it with cheap canned cat food and trap the cats. Take the cats to the shelter. Keep doing this until the problem is resolved. It’s not the cats’ fault that they are being hoarded, so don’t put poison out, just trap them and shelter them.

Some kind of hot food.
Tina | Dec 11, 2006

they have this great fox powder that you can sprinkle through out the perimeter of your yard. the smell, which is invisible to you, is totally discusting to them and deters them from your yard. trust me it works like a charm!

here is the ordering site:

If you are talking of poisoning them, you ought to be reported to police.

Can anyone tell me where I can find toy/ teacup persian or himalayen breeders in Queensland or New South Wale?

I am looking for a really small cat. Don’t care how much it costs. I have looked into Singapura’s and they just ain’t small enough.

I don’t like to sound preachy, but I kinda hate posting this because I feel it’s morally wrong to do this to animals. To answer your question, there is a new breed of cat called Munchkins. Here is a website for the breed.
http://www.munchkins.com/

I don’t encourage the breeding of "teacup" animals or purposefully breeding animals to encourage deformities. For example, did you know the flat face of a persian causes it to have nose and eye problems? The munchkin cats were bred by mating cats with a genetic condition called dwarfism that made their legs short. Another side effect of this genetic condition is joint problems and heart problems.

Teacup animals usually refer to the practice of breeding the smallest animals in a litter with others like them. Usually the smallest animal in a litter is unhealthy in some other way as well and breeding these traits into a line can encourage really really sick animals. So essentially what you are doing is paying lots and lots of good money for sickly animals that will cost you loads in medical bills later.

Cats grow up, and they don’t stay a kitten forever. A cat is not a fashion accessory or a toy to be shown off and forgotten about. Please think long and hard about this.

Then don’t get a cat – get a hamster.

Anyone breeding Persians or Himalayan cats to be extra small is doing so solely to make money and with little – or no – regard to the health issues this might create. Animals specifically bred to be extra small often have very weak hearts and die within a year or two. Very, very, VERY sad that you would choose to support this sort of breeding.

Did the movie Paranormal Activity give you a headache from the camera shaking?

If you’ve seen the movie Paranormal Activity, did it make you sick from too much camera shaking? I need to know if I’m going to spend the whole time rocking myself in nausea-induced delirium.

No it really didnt. The camera stays really still for a lot of it as a lot of time they just set the camera on the table or night stand and film. Its a good movie you’ll be fine :)

at first, but it only made me dizzy for awhile
Bri-Bri 21 | Oct 20, 2009

No, it’s not like that horrible Blair Witch Project. Most of the time the camera was sitting on a tripod or set down on a table or something. I didn’t notice much shaking.

That was such an awesome movie.

Really it just made me long for the good ole days when I watched paint dry. This movie defines "suck"
hmonk7 | Oct 21, 2009

no. but. i am one of the only guys i know who enjoyed cloverfield, and blair witch project is one of my favorites. but i thought that having the camera on the tripod for part of the movie helped out a lot. plus, since the camera was hand held, it gave you a more horrific effect. like when he turns the camera towards to freaky sounds, you dont know what your gonna find. the movie scared the living shit outta me.
a7xxx | Oct 21, 2009

YES! I was so nauseated I had to leave the theatre for a few minutes and totally lost everything I’d eaten before. I lasted as long as I could…I tried to watch the "horizon" at the bottom of the screen or only look up at the bedroom scenes which were stationary…but by then it was too late. Shall we say TOASTED! I went back in the theatre after cold water on my face and watched the ending but man…I was wiped out. I had this hot sweat/chills feeling and then this wave overcame me. One of my daughters’ friends had to put her head between her knees to keep from passing out. It’s a good film, definitely get the effect by seeing it at night but know that it’s going to wreck havoc with your equilibrium. :)

No.

i just finished watching it. i can tell u that the camera doesnt shake too much to make you sick, but if ur sitting against a wall you will hit your head from jumping and being scared. theres not much to it. hope you like the movie! even tho i know i wont be getting any sleep tonight…

Sometimes when you indeed experience to have a headache when you spent too much time viewing the television or facing in front of the computer.
Dave | Oct 22, 2009

just go see it
martin b | Oct 22, 2009

Not really…the camera is held steady most of the time, nothing like the blair witch project. It’s a great movie, scared the heck out of me!
Vampire Girl | Oct 23, 2009

I just came back from the movie like literally 30 minutes ago. It definitely made me sick & i had to sit there with my eyes closed going half way through because I couldn’t handle the motion, not to mention gagging a couple times here and there. but the movie is definitely a bad ass blow your mind away, i suggest you go see it!

the only t ng that will give you a headache is the black people screaming their heads off at the expected parts.

other than that the crappy camera shakey goes with the crappy movie

and the ending sucked
Shanna | Oct 23, 2009

I’m not a big fan of the whole shaky-camera thing. This was my first shaky camera film. I can tell you that it DOES shake, but it doesn’t jiggle and bounce up and down very much. It’s in general pretty stable. I’m surprised that people got sick from it, honestly. =/ It wasn’t that bad, and you’ll be distracted soon enough. =] If you don’t like it, I’m sure the theatre can provide you with tickets to another movie.
Michelle | Oct 23, 2009

At first yes…because in the very begining he’s holding the camera a lot and walking. Ugh. There was one older couple who left the theatre because they were getting sick. But if they had waiting another 15 or so minutes then the guys puts the camera on a tripod. I’d say majority of the movie has the camera sitting on a solid surface not moving…but there are parts throughout that someone is holding it but honestly the movie is good and once you’ve gotten really into…the couple minutes at a time that they are acutally holding it won’t even bother you.

How many men under 40 use handkerchiefs every day?

I do not leave my house until l have put a handkerchief into my front trouser pocket. I normally use it 3-4 times a day to blow my nose. How many men under 40 do this and if you do not carry a hanky, what do you use to blow your nose?

I suppose I must be lucky – I only need to blow mine twice a day and I do it in the shower. The carbon footprint associated with my nose-blowing is small.

It’s interesting to note the Yanks on here suggesting a ‘blow and throw’ approach to nasal discharge. How un-environmentally friendly is that?
